Escape to Serenity
In an earlier post I mentioned that I had been looking for somewhere for My and N's 7 year getting-together anniversary in January. I have found the perfect place. It is gorgeous, simple, romantic and close to nature. Perched just above a beach in Cornwall, the beach hut has one bedroom, a kitchen and a living area. And ... no road leading to it. You need to park the car some little distance away and walk down a path towards the sea to reach your cosy little abode. I can just imagine waking up to the sound of the sea, wrapping up warm and going straight for a stroll on the windswept beach before a hearty breakfast back at the hut. I can imagine snuggling up in the evening with a nice bottle of wine and a warm fire with the waves crashing down below ... The only problem is although it is simple and close to nature the price tag on a weekend here is anything but simple and N may need quite some persuading so for now at least I can only imagine ... Oh, that looks heavenly. I love the idea of holing up in a little cottage by the sea with food, wine and good company. We keep meaning to do it but it's always so prohibitively expensive in this country. Good luck convincing N...
That looks and sounds wonderful. I am so envious! :-) I saw a travel channel/Samantha Brown special on Cornwall and it looks fabulous.
Cornwall is very lovely! I went to University in Exeter, Devon, which is the 'next door' county to Cornwall. On weekends N and I would jump in his car and go exploring. Cornwall has a stunning coastline with some truly beautiful beaches and fantastic smugglers coves.
However, I didn't do too good a job at convincing N at the weekend! I may have to persevere! Mind you I don't blame him - it's pretty expensive and imagining being there is almost as nice as the actuality (she says desperately trying to convince herself!). But there are many nice places to go and I think he is keen to do the organising. What ever we do will be lovely.
